The handicapped accessible renovations that those living with physical disabilities need most are extremely expensive. The average the cost to widen a doorway to be wheelchair accessible is $500. Adjusting kitchen cabinets – over $3,000. Fully renovating a bathroom to be ADA accessible is over $25,000. It’s no wonder those with physical disabilities and their caretakers are seldom in a position to make these changes in their homes without community assistance.
